Your Two Minute Exercise of the Day!

Saturday, March 09, 2013

Don't you feel so much better about yourself when you are eating healthy and exercising?  We certainly do!  If you get in the habit of eating healthy and delicious foods and moving your bodies you will have so much energy you won't know what to do with it!  It's the weekend ladies so let's all get moving together so we can look good for date night ;)

Today we are working out and toning our backs, one of the sexiest parts of the body ;)  What's going to happen if we ignore this body part?  Love handles and fat hanging over our bras... NO thank you!   All we need for this quick and simple workout are small hand weights!  We used 5 pound weights, but if you don't have any soup cans are a fabulous substitute, so NO excuses!

Grab those weights because the clock starts now!
30 rows each arm - lean on chair (as in picture)  and keep body at 90 degree angle.  Hang one arm to floor, keep arm tight to body and raise all the way up and slower lower back to hanging postion.
20 reverse fly - sit down on edge of chair & lean forward as far down as you can keeping your head down.  Hang your arms straight down to the ground.  Keeping your arms straight raise both arms out to the side and then lower slowly back to starting postion.
15 Superman lifts - Lay flat on floor on your stomach.  With your arms straight out in front and legs straight out in back, raise both arms and legs to get your elbows and knees off ground (hold for 3-5 seconds before you release back to ground)

See don't you feel better now?  We know we do!  Now if you're really feeling motivated do a little cardio and move those bodies around ;)

If you're going out to eat for date night tonight, be sure to pick a healthy choice off the menu!  Many restaurants aren't very mindful of calories and load up the entrees with butter, creams and salt.   If the menu says an entree is fried, be good and ask for it grilled instead.  If you plan on eating a salad to keep those waistlines in check, ask for the dressing on the side.  It's all about making healthy choices and trust us when you get in the habit you will be feel a lot better about yourself and just plain HAPPY!  Isn't that what life is all about?

If you are staying in tonight cook up your favorite 'I don't go to the gym' meal and enjoy!  Don't forget one of our favorite skinny tips is to workout while cooking ;)  Do bicep curls every time you grab a can, squats while your waiting for the water to boil, or just dance around... that's our favorite thing to do!

Happy weekend everyone!
